Yarkın Çöl (b. 1986) pursued his compositional work in a self-taught manner until 2023, alongside his formal studies in engineering, radio and television, agriculture, and sociology. That year, after receiving an honorable mention at the BESOM – Centennial Piano Pieces for Children Competition, he was admitted to Başkent University State Conservatory, Department of Music Theory and Composition. His works have been performed in various concerts and have been recognized in competitions.
He is currently studying music theory, solfège, form analysis, composition, counterpoint, orchestration, music history, classical harmony, modal and maqam-based harmony, jazz harmony, and traditional Turkish music, with Prof. Melik Ertuğrul Bayraktarkatal, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Göktepe, Prof. Ali Sevgi, Prof. Fazlı Orhun Orhon, and Lecturer Duysal İmsel, while continuing his piano studies with Sibel Sarıcan Gündüz.
